[this is just a draft meant to show bits of what’s the system is going to look like and function, feel free to reach out for questions and input!]

The Regen Funding Support (RFS) system is being developed as an open-source, replicable workflow to help local and bioregional ReFi nodes identify, process, and share regenerative funding opportunities more effectively. It combines human-led processes with automation and AI-assisted tools to streamline research, matchmaking, and knowledge sharing.
What the System Does
- Collects funding opportunities from diverse external sources, such as newsletters, databases, and networks.
- Processes and categorizes opportunities into a structured Notion-based database for easy filtering, searching, and tracking.
- Matches opportunities with regenerative projects based on their specific funding needs, timelines, and thematic focus.
- Maintains an evolving knowledge base of processes, tools, and best practices that can be shared across the ReFi network.
- Facilitates communication and collaboration between projects and local nodes to improve access to funding and reduce duplicated effort.
What’s Being Tested in This Phase
- AI Agent Processing: Automated parsing, tagging, and summarization of incoming funding opportunities to save time and improve relevance.
- Matchmaking Procedures: Semi-automated workflows for connecting the right opportunities to the right projects.
- Feedback Loops: Systems for collecting outcomes and insights from matched projects to refine the database and processes.
- Decentralized Application Model: Testing the feasibility of running the system at the local/bioregional level while connecting multiple nodes for global knowledge exchange.
Tools Being Used
- Notion as the primary research platform and collaborative database.
